Nancy is a certified professional midwife and childbirth educator who has attended approximately 1,500 births over the past 25 years, with 15 years of private practice midwifery. She co-founded C/SEC, the first cesarean awareness organization in the world, and coined the term VBAC, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean.
She is the author of two critically-acclaimed books on childbirth. "Silent Knife: Cesarean Prevention and VBAC," which won the American Library Award for the best book in the field of Health and Medicine, and "Open Season: A Survival Guide for Natural Childbirth." Nancy graduated with honors from her midwifery program and trained in a variety of hospitals, birth centers, and midwifery schools in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Jamaica.
She is a member of the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance and the North American Registry of Midwives, and an internationally known and sought-after childbirth speaker. |
