PRIVATE LABOR SUPPORT!
The quality of the birth experience has a profound effect on the birthing woman, the newborn, and the family. Research suggests that it may, in fact. have life-long effects.
It has been well-documented that women with private labor support have shorter labors, less technological intervention, and a significant increase in satisfaction with their experience.
In most other countries, a pregnant woman is attended by a familiar, knowledgeable female attendant who herself has had children, and who offers support, guidance, and caring during the labor and birth. These cultures show a better outcome for both mother and baby, far fewer surgical deliveries, and an easier post-partum period.
You meet with your labor assistant several times before your baby is due. You talk and get to know one another. When you are in labor and ready for her to be with you, she assists you and your partner by helping you to relax, answering questions, and offering practical suggestions for an easier labor and delivery. She is sensitive to your needs, stays with you throughout your labor until after your baby is born, and acts as your advocate. She enhances the experience for both the mother and father -- and for the newborn baby, as well!
